More About Congenital Heart Defects in General
I’m gonna leave you with two simple truths:
1. Congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defect in the United States, affecting nearly 1% of―or about 40,000―births per year.
2. The causes of congenital heart defects among most babies are unknown. Don’t beat yourself up over it: as far as I’m concerned it isn’t your fault…but it is your job to learn about CHDs, whichever your child or loved one may have, and learn how to get the best treatment and care possible, period.
